Gas-Sensing Performance of Gadolinium Ferrates with Rod and Butterfly Morphologies

There is an urgent need to develop a low-cost and high-performance gas sensor for industrial production daily life. Perovskite-type oxides are appropriate materials resistive sensors. In this paper, two gas-sensing of gadolinium orthoferrite (GdFeO3) with rod butterfly morphologies were obtained by annealing the corresponding precursors at 800 °C in muffle furnace 3 h. The GdFe(CN)6·4H2O novel prepared co-precipitation method room temperature. evaluated terms their structure, morphology, performance. based on GdFeO3 rods showed better sensing performance than butterflies. It exhibited largest response value 58.113 100 ppm n-propanol relatively low operating temperature 140 °C, detection limit was 1 ppm. results show that rods-based performed well detecting concentration n-propanol. satisfactory may be due porous structure large percentages defect oxygen adsorbed (37.5% 14.6%) surface. This study broadens application area.
